Beverly Arts Center Hosts 2nd Annual Chicago College Art Competition
Chicago area BFA and MFA art students currently enrolled in a college art program are invited to participate in the 2nd Annual College Art Competition at the Beverly Arts Center (BAC), 2407 W. 111th St. (111th Street south on Western Avenue), Chicago. This competition is juried by members of the BAC gallery committee and awards will be given. Applications will be available at BAC and online at www.beverlyartcenter.org on Jan. 7 (2008). The application deadline is Feb. 8, and winning works will be exhibited at the BAC Feb. 29 through Mar. 30, with an opening reception and awards presentation Sat., Mar. 1, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. For information on the competition, contact Jennifer O’Connor at Jennifer@beverlyartcenter.org

10 ice rinks located at parks across the city will have ice skating this season. Rinks open for the season on Friday, November 23. Skating Season Runs Through Feb. 29

Midway Plaisance Park, 1130 Midway Plaisance North (east 59th Street at Woodlawn), 312-745-2470 Monday – Thursday, 12 – 7 p.m.; Friday, 12 – 4:30 p.m., 5 – 7 p.m.; Saturday, 1-9 p.m.; Sunday, 12 – 7 p.m. $3 skate rental; admission is $4 for children, $5 for adults. Food concessions are available.
