State Street Halloween Happening Parade

Admission is FREE!
Kids can join in the on the fun by marching in costume as part of The State Street Halloween Happening Parade on Saturday, October 25. The parade steps off at noon at the corner of State and Randolph streets. Following the parade, kids can enjoy trick-or-treating, a performance by Midnight Circus and a costume contest—all at Pumpkin (Daley) Plaza.
(There is no pumpkin decorating on parade day.)




BAC Hosts Halloween Fest

Sun. Oct. 26, 2 to 4 p.m

Families looking for a howling good time are invited to Halloween Family Fest at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St. (111th south on Western Avenue), Chicago. The admission price of $10 per person ($8 for BAC members) includes activities and materials for craft projects. On the spooky schedule at the Center are:


· Trick-or-Treat at the BAC -- and encounter a cast of crazy characters portrayed by BAC teen actors in every room.
· Decorate your own treat bag – and collect candy as you go trick-or-treating through the BAC.
· Learn the dance from “Thriller!”
· Make clay pumpkin decorations in the ceramics studio.
· Paint a mini-pumpkin (or bring a real pumpkin to paint)
· Costume Parade (prizes will be awarded in each age group, including grown-ups!)
· Adults are invited to enter a raffle to win tickets to see Dickey Betts in concert at the BAC on Halloween Night, Fri., Oct. 31.

Blues legend Corky Siegel has earned an international reputation as one of the world's great blues musicians. Corky's career began when he formed the famous Siegel-Schwall Band that toured the major rock palaces and clubs in the 60's and 70's. Corky (harmonica, piano, vocals) will be joined by swingin’ jazz violinist




Randy Sabien, who has garnered national attention through regular performances on Garrison Keillor's popular National Public Radio program A Prairie Home Companion, and the long-running TV show Austin City Limits. Siegel and Sabien are at WMC Sat. Nov. 1 (8 p.m., $30).
